“The crowd was amazing. It feels good to win in my home country”, Witlox said, “The finals went pretty well and I was able to keep a good position throughout the race.”

Dutch champion Jeroen van Eck wins his second City Mountainbike Festival. Lehvi Braam settled for second place, as he got overtaken by Jeroen van Eck in the final lap. It is Jeroen’s third win at City Mountainbike’s events of this year, after claiming his first World Cup title in Columbus/GA (USA) and winning the City Mountainbike Festival in Waregem. Daniël Prijkel (NED) outsprinted Belgium’s Jay Bytebier for third place.

“I’m very happy with my achieved results so far. I’ve been working hard to get here, Jeroen van Eck told us afterwards. “My next aim is to perform well for the remaining rounds of the UCI MTB Eliminator World Cup. Also, Il’l try to defend my title at the Dutch XCE nationals in two weeks time. Although I prefer to have the rainbow jersey on my shoulders.”
