Action packed season opener

Khalid Al Awar, Director Sports Events Department, Dubai Sports Council said:

“We are honoured to stage the season opener of the seven-round 2020 UCI Mountain Bike Eliminator World Cup here in Dubai for the first time, around one of the city’s trendiest district, the City Walk. The City Walk, of course, should be a familiar spot for cycling enthusiasts because it was the finish line for the Dubai Tour a few times and last week, it witnessed a thrilling finish to the fourth stage of the 2020 UAE Tour. Dubai is known around the globe for hosting top sports events around the year, and it is fast emerging as one of the top destinations for international cycling competitions.

The UCI Mountain Bike Eliminator World Cup is one of four UCI events that Dubai hosts, and that is evidence of the Emirate’s reputation among UCI officials and international cyclists.

We will be welcoming some of the sport’s biggest names for this UCI Mountain Bike Eliminator World Cup season opener and I am sure the visiting cyclists, officials and fans are as excited as us to be kicking of the season here in Dubai.”
