We are thrilled to announce that Barcelona (Spain) will be hosting the 2022 UCI Mountain Bike Eliminator World Championships on October 2, 2022!
After welcoming three UCI Mountain Bike Eliminator World Cup rounds from 2019 to 2021, we can’t wait to write the next chapter of cycling history in the breathtaking Park Montjuïc!
The green Montjuïc (213 metres) is the most famous hill in Barcelona. Because of the 1929 World Fair in Barcelona, palaces, pavilions, parks, botanical gardens, sports stadiums, and exhibition rooms were built on the hill. The Olympic sports stadiums were renovated, and others were added for the 1992 Summer Olympics. As you can read, sport is all around. And that’s exactly why we are delighted with this news! Barcelona has everything you need to be one of the most spectacular and followed events of this modality. From its unique environment, with the incomparable and ideal setting for MTB that is the Montjuïc mountain, to its organizational capacity and image of an active city. In 2019 it debuted on the UCI Mountain Bike Eliminator World Cup calendar and the experience was a success.
